Manufacturing Process

Step2 products are made using rotational moulding, a process that founder Tom Murdough pioneered for use in the consumer products market. Step2 is ranked #1 as the largest rotational moulder of plastics in the world.

Facilities

Step2 has strategic global placement of its facilities to better service the growing customer demand for their products. Three US plants include a total of 800,000 sq. ft. at two northern Ohio sites located in Streetsboro and Perrysville. In addition, a facility in Fort Valley, GA contributes another 102,500 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space.

Employees

Step2 is privately held by New York-based Liberty Partners and led by President and CEO Scott Levin. Step2 has been augmented through the 2007 acquisition of Infantino, a leading Infant Toys and Products Company, and the 2008 acquisition of Thinkativity, an early learning educational toy company.

These additions to the Step2 family of companies produce a natural extension of complementary lines to the preschool category. Step2 management began operations in 1991 with 5 employees, grew to approximately 500 employees by the end of 1993, and presently has over 800 full-time employees who benefit from the company's health care, stock appreciation, and profit sharing plans.

Sales

Step2 products enjoy distribution in selected retailers throughout the United States, Canada, and over 70 foreign countries.
